Oakham v Market Overton – Saturday 18th at Melton Indoor Bowls Club

37 players enjoyed a fun but competitive afternoon. We played 6 rinks of triples, rink 2 for Oakham Lee, David and Mick won the first 2 ends then struggled a bit finally running out losing 12-24, but they tell me the score does not fully reflect the game.

Rink 3 started with Paula leading, Graham and Nigel, before Paula swapped with Jane after 9 ends, this was Oakham’s winning rink 26-7.

Rink 4 Liz, Lesley and Alan came out on top of a low scoring game 13-8.

Rink 5 Eddie Markey, John and Mike struggled throughout losing 8-20.

Rink 6 Sylvie, Sean and Denis had a very close game throughout, with Oakham holding shot on the last end only for their skip to draw a winner to draw the match 11-11

Rink 7 Jackie, Ros and Derek, this was another low scoring rink except for one end with Oakham dropping 8 shots!! This was the real difference between the 2 teams with Oakham losing 9-18

Overall Oakham won 2 rinks, drew1 losing 3 and overall losing 79-87

40 people enjoyed a lovely meal followed by presentations to various people for wrong bias and winning/losing rinks.

A big thank you to all the players for their support.

We look forward to the next friendly on November 8th v Syston 2pm
